1957-1960. This is the last screw-mount model of the Leica cameras. Same as the IIIf but with a larger viewfinder which had a "bright" functionality (introduction of bright lines from an additional window). Black cameras were made mostly for the Swedish Army. Many (~125) of them had "3 crowns" engraving on the back and on the lens. Some were produced without the crowns, and they are slightly less valuable (most of them were painted by the customer request).
