1957-1960. This is the last screw-mount model of the Leica cameras. Same as the IIIf but with a larger viewfinder which had a "bright" functionality (introduction of bright lines from an additional window). Black cameras were made mostly for the Swedish Army. Many (~125) of them had "3 crowns" engraving on the back and on the lens. Some were produced without the crowns, and they are slightly less valuable.
