The Canon Snappy 50 of July 1982 was a 35mm compact camera for budget-conscious photographers, and it launched a whole series of Canon Snappy cameras. A special Snappy 84 edition promoted the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1984. The camera has a 35mm, f/3.5 lens, integrated built in flash. (GN: 11m at ISO 100), autofocus, auto-exposure, shutter speeds of 1/30 to 1/350 of a second, switch for shooting either 100 or 400 ASA film, and is powered by two AA batteries. It also has a switch for the flash unit, frame counter on the top, built in lens cove, film rewind switch, auto film advance, flash ready LED next to the viewfinder, and a handy carry strap built in.
