here is the description and a few pictures of the camera sold on July 25 2016 on Ebay (Price above)
"Rare CANON VT de LUXE Model VTDZ. (1957) and Produced only for a very few months.
One of the Most Original and Advanced 35 mm Rangefinder cameras of the 1950's!
By Canon Camera Co. Tokyo Japan.
Serial No. 583597. With SUPERB Six Element f: 1.8 5cm CANON Coated and Highly Color Corrected lens
No.232411 "Coupled Viewfinder/Rangefinder with " Automatic Parallex Correction" .The Viewfinder is "Life Size"
permitting "Both Eyes Open" for ease in following moving subjects.
Focal Plane Shutter with speeds from 1 sec. to 1/1,000 sec. B. T. & Self Timer.
All in Very close to new and Full Working Condition. The Shutter works at all speeds
and appears to be very accurate. The Lens is clear no fungus, scratches or cleaning marks and only
a small amount of internal dust. I am sure it will produce excellent results.
The camera body has no bright marks, scratches, dents or dings.
There is a slight "dimple" on the left side of the base and some scratches and a tiny ding
(see photos 3,4 & 5)
The Satin and Bright Chrome finish is in very close to new condition with only the very slightest signs
of age and handling. In fact the camera really looks new.
The Black grained covering is complete and looks very close to new.
The Black lacquer trim is perfect.
Internally the camera has no signs of use. The Shutter Curtains and both perfect
The Rangefinder focuses correctly and the Viewfinder is clear and sharp. There is a slight haze
when looking at a bright light. Focusing is accurate.
There is a light ORANGE central and light BLUE framing filter for better contrast in low light conditions.
The camera opens and closes correctly.
Please see all photos of the actual camera for condition. Purchased as a collectible
and always stored in my acclimatized storage. Almost always found in very used non working condition
and Extremely Rare in this close to new unused and full functioning state with only
light signs of age or handling. A Really Great "Ready to use" and Beautiful display camera."
