Tayodo Camera Shop (Camera Taiyōdō at Kanda-Jinbocho, Tokyo) created Tayodo Optical Co., Ltd. (Taiyōdō Koki, 太陽堂) in 1947 and started manufacturing cameras in 1948. To align with the brand, the camera manufacturing division was transferred to the newly formed Beauty Camera Company in 1957. At least one source suggests the Beauty Camera was renamed to Denshi Koki Co., Ltd. (電子光機株) in 1965. Original Camera Taiyōdō remained in business as a camera shop until 2013.
