"A scarce Casca model II interchangeable lens 35mm camera with f2.8 5cm Culminar lens. The solid die-cast body uses a unique lens mount that locks the lens in position via 3 sets of ball-bearings. Shutter speeds are selected by sliding a bar on the rear.
Camera is in good clean condition and the lens is clean and clear. Focussing is a bit stiff but only when the lens is on the camera; the diaphragm rotates smoothly. The film advance winds ok and the focal plane shutter snaps smartly. Speeds up to 1/100 look fine but the blind does not open at 1/250 and over. Covering on the back door is a neat replacement. The coupled rangefinder is working with a good spot. The viewfinder is clear and has red frame lines, switchable for 8.5 and 13.5, that show up well.
In addition to the two-pin flash socket on the base this camera has the factory optional PC outlet on the front panel.
There were only two model Casca cameras manufactured during 1948-49, less than 2000 were made; they are not often seen for sale."
