Spartus Corp. acquired a Utility Manufacturing in 1940 and moved the camera manufacturing business to Chicago. Since the beginning, the company manufactured cameras under different company names (or for the companies, which were located at the same address): Spartus Corp., Falcon Camera Co. (Falcon cameras are listed under Utility Mfg.), Spencer Co., Monarch Mfg. Co., etc. In 1950 the former president of Spartus, Jack Galter, started a new company: Galter Products. In 1952, the sales manager of Spartus, Harold Rubin, purchased Spartus and changed its name to Herold Mfg. Co..
