Sands & Hunter company was established in London, in 1874 by John James Hunter and C. Sands as Hunter & Sands. The name was changed to Sands & Hunter in 1884. Later, in 1890, the name was changed again, to Sands, Hunter & Co.. The company manufactured various photographic products including cameras, but also was working as a dealer for other brands as well as used equipment. Starting 1898, company mostly was in a reselling business, even though it tried to re-enter a camera manufacturing area around 1913-1914, which didn't work out well. Company was still in business until late 1950s.
