The company was established in 1882 as Comptoir General De Photographie by Perrichont and Picard. In 1891 it was purchased by Felix-Maxime Richard, who previously sold his part in Richard Freres to his brother, Jules. In 1895, after a litigation, Felix sold the company to one of his employees - Léon Gaumont, and the company was renamed to L. Gaumont & Cie.. |
