The company was established by Robert Murray and Robert Vernon Heath in 1855 in London, UK as a supplier of scientific and philosophical instruments including cameras. Murray died in 1857 and in 1862 Heath sold the business to Carles Heisch, who then sold it in 1869 to Murray’s son, Robert Charles. The company kept its name during those transitions and until 1882 when new owner reorganized under the name of Robert C. Murray. The business was closed in 1890-1891 and reopened in 1892. It produced photographic equipment until very early 1900s. |
