The Rex Lujo is nearly identical to the Gradosol Lujo and is a clone of the French camera Photax which has been copied by many others

Yes! Personally I think that is a Kaftax copy, more than a Photax.

I collect cameras "made in Argentina".

The very first bakelite camera with this very recognizable streamlined shape was the Photax II (also called Photax "blindé") built in France by MIOM from 1938 to 1947.
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/html/page_standard_eng.php?id_appareil=950

Mister Kaftanski, when he left Fex, started to produce its own range of 6x9 bakelite cameras (Kaftax, Banco Perfect and so on)
These cameras strongly inspired from the Photax II were marketed from 1948 to 1954
The Kaftax was sold in 1949 and 1950

This is the evidence that Kaftax is some sort of clone of the Photax II.

There were many copies of the Photax II
Among them, we can list the following:
the Spanish Fotex
The Super Capta from Industrias Matunano (Valencia)
The As Phot from Gevaert
The Fit manufactured by Dufa
The Yejin from China
The Cinex from USA
The Rex Junior from Argentina

etc...
