Hermagis company was established in 1845 by Hyacinthe Hermagis. Starting 1864, his son, Jules Fleury-Hermagis, continued the business and renamed the company to Fleury-Hermagis. When Jules died in 1912, his son, H.P. du Motel, became in charge of this business. Later the company was bought by Paul Guillaume, and in 1934 sold to Berthiot.
