Brass lens made in Rotterdam
Brass lens made in Rotterdam
Have found another old brass lens. Can't find any info on it. Anybody know anything about it? The lens came with this interesting focal plane shutter. Both were made in Rotterdam. Think the shutter is a Thorton Pickard.
Re: Brass lens made in Rotterdam
What does the lens say in script? I can't make it out
Re: Brass lens made in Rotterdam
Looks like it says D A H L van Lenus, but not sure.

I wasn't able to find anything about it...neat lens though!
Re: Brass lens made in Rotterdam
Odd one. Can't even find a reference to any "van Lenus" or "van Jenus" optician in Rotterdam.
Re: Brass lens made in Rotterdam
There was a camera shop (strangely enough also Pharmacy) which was called Dr AHC van Senus which was located on Avenue Concordia 98 and 100 Rotterdam. A 1914 catalogue was sold on Catawiki on 14-Nov-2013 https://veiling.catawiki.nl/kavels/203217-fotografie-dr-a-h-c-van-senus-prijscourant-no-3-van-benoodigdheden-voor-fotografie-en-projectie-1914 The shop was selling a whole range of cameras and accessories, most likely the lens was produced by another manufacturer and the name of the shop was engraved. Another 1926 catalogue is (still) for sale at https://www.anamorfosa.nl/ambacht-techniek/Prijscourant-van-benoodigdheden-voor-Fotografie-en-Projectie-van-Dr.-A.-H.-V.-van-Senus-Eigen-Beheer.
