Arca Swiss: Arca Swiss (monorail)

Postby RodKlukas » Wed Nov 07, 2018 9:35 am

This is a Arca-Swiss B, for base tilt, model camera produced until the end of 1983. It is a very good camera, but care must be taken if the function carriers which ride on the monorails, are removed. The polycarbonate spacer/guides, which are on each side of the rails, over time become brittle and may just shatter. These have not been available for many years so not replaceable.

The lens board is 171 flat and these are found new still in some locations. The F-line used a 171 series board as well, however it was slightly recessed(13mm) to accommodate correct geometry for yaw free movement.

Camera can be moved to the more robust current monorail if desired, but that is about all that is still available for this series.
Current ground glass is same size, so that is available if the the GG is broken.

Contact me if you have other questions. I am the USA Representative for Arca-Swiss.
