Leblond: Folding Strut Camera (Rollfilm)

Postby Madd10 » Tue Sep 29, 2015 6:45 am

Apparently this could be the first rollfilm back.

This is the description from sept 30 2006 the Auction Team Breker auction:

"Wooden French Folding Strut Camera with World's Very First Rollfilm Back, c. 1887 Levallois-Perret, Frankreich. Size 6 x 7 cm, with Hermagis Aplanastigmat 6,8/72 (No. 252983), no diaphragm, rollfilm back with counting mechanism. Referring to French top expert Paul Marillier, Paris, G. Leblond sold his rollfilm back patent in 1886/7 to Eastman Kodak, Rochester, NY, which brought it as "Walker-Eastman rollfilm back" onto the market in 1888! - This is the only one Leblond rollfilm back worldwide! - A true milestone!"
