Keystone K38

Postby arnstone » Thu Aug 14, 2014 8:56 pm

Ok so I came across this gem and was going to look it up, and figured it was the K38 "OLYMPIC" model, and diser has it written as such. That's OK... But look how it is written on the manufacture label. Print typo, or.. Any thoughts on this?

How bizarre! Surely that's a misspelling.
Have a look at some of the cameras in my collection:

Well I checked out a couple of K38's on ebay, and they had "OLYMPIC" spelled correctly. So this is a misspelling. But from the factory? Value. If this is unique to THIS camera, would that make it more, or less valuble?

Generally speaking, any kind of factory errors that get though Q.C. make an item more valuable. In the case of this particular camera however, "more valuable" would mean what - fifty bucks? Not enough to retire on! :|

I mean, I personally think it's cool, because I like stuff like that, but even I wouldn't pay a lot for it. Now if you can find a collector who specializes in Keystone and MUST have that camera, well then you're getting somewhere! :P

Wow, that's a good one. I wonder how many models were released with the same error.
