MSRP Prices
MSRP Prices
Just for my records, I would like to know what a camera sold for "New", or "MSRP". I was wondering if there is a web site or do you have a list of "New" camera prices? So far I have just used Amazon or Adorama, But they just have the listing for what the camera is selling for right now. As a matter of fact, they still have some old stock sitting on someones shelf for some outrageous prices.
Re: MSRP Prices
Yes, it could be interesting information. Though what if MSRP changes during the years when camera was sold new?
I have old catalogs from 1900s, and three years later, same camera could be priced twice less.

Re: MSRP Prices
@Diser
That's true. Kodak introduced the "Six-20 Flash Brownie" in 1940, at $4.25. Then they renamed it as the "Brownie Flash Six-20" in 1946, at which time the price went up to $5.90. Same camera though, and never differentiated.
Sometimes, even different colors of a given camera were priced differently.

Have a look at some of the cameras in my collection:

Re: MSRP Prices
I can see that that could definatly change the market price of the same camera. My first SLR was a "Honeywell" Pentax Spotmatic w/42mm thread lenses, around 1970. A good friend of mine gave it to me. Then in 1973 I traded the whole outfit for a Nikon F2 Photomic w/50mm lens. I remember the F2 at the time sold for $550.00. and with the lens a total of $570.00 out the door. They gave me $200.00 credit for the pentax. I would still have the F2 camera if someone hadn't of stole it from me in 1983. It would just be interesting to see how much a particular camera went up or down in price. Thanks guys
