I think that a standardized list of serial numbers would be interesting.

To be welcomed, but quite a bit of work to match with the current lists.
Useful for dating objects, but only if the numbers are accompanied by a year. Unfortunately many brands have a rather long timespan for their products.Also some interesting lists may not be in the public domain (books). This calls for a cooperative effort.
