Hello All, I’m new to the forum but am glad to have found it (thank you Albert). I bought a handful of lenses yesterday from an estate sale. Among them were 2 Canon 50mm .95 (not in the best shape, but will hopefully clean up well), 2 Canon 1.2s and a couple other unusual lenses. I paid $60 for the lot and was thrilled to have purchased them given the Canon Dream Lenses, which I think are salvageable. The last was an Angenieux 100mm f2 S3. I seen this maker plenty of times and have sold them on occasion, this one didn’t seem very special. Later when I researched the last few sales, which are hard to find, I was floored! Out of the three I’ve found they sold for anywhere from 30-42k! Wow, what an amazing find. I’ve attached a picture that shows the front of the lens and it serial number. Forgive the lint as I used some alcohol, Qtip and a very minty soft cloth just to get the heavy dust off it. I was actually very close to a specialist who does CLAs on high end lenses so I delivered it directly to him before being able to get better photos (the optics are in great shape for the most part, however there is some internal haze that needs resolution.) I’ve discovered that the filter thread is a 57.5mm and the rear a 35mm deep M54 thread. Does anyone have any idea where I might find caps for it? Also, I’ve noticed that the examples I’ve found online all have “made in France” or “made in Paris” stamped on the side, mine doesn’t have this. Is it possible it was a different version of the lens? The few I’ve seen are all with 50 digits of my serial number, the others are a little earlier, mine ends in 82...seems like they would all have been from the same run. Any insight on the lens would be highly appreciated. Thank you kindly!
