F.A.F. Acies

Postby Cloddok » Mon Apr 13, 2020 7:06 am

Goodmorning everyone.

Some time ago, I purchased this Italian camera dated approximately 1947.
It's a F.A.F. Acies from a Pordenone company of which I have found very little information.
It's a 35mm that shoots both in 24x36 and in 18x24 (small and half format)): the format can be selected and changed using a selector located on the base of the camera.
I'd like to know if anyone has any idea of the value of this object, whose rarity I presume is quite high (especially considering that mine should be a prototype).

I leave you the links to the few information I've already found (two sites are in Italian, please use the translator).

I hope someone can help me.

Best regards

Ps: my camera, after a total restoration, is fully functional and with lenses as good as new.

I found an entry in the May 12 2012 Westlicht auction (21st Westlicht Auction). The camera was not sold for 500 $ (estimated price range (800-1000 US$) https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/11315475_503-giorgio-moretti-faf-acies-sn-02173-c1947

Thank you for your time.
I saw those auctions but the great difference between each other leant me to ask here.
And I also absolutely don't understand why the camera, in the second auction, was valued between 800-1000$...
It's really strange that a camera, which was presented in an important occasion in Milan, is basically unknown.
Also on the McKeown's, on which I found everything in the last years, there's no trace about it.

Thanks everyone, I added the manufacturer here https://collectiblend.com/Cameras/FAF/
Still need to wait for the sold values to come up.
