Polaroid Land Camera info help

Postby jameshowe » Thu Aug 09, 2018 7:15 am

I have ran across this Polaroid Land Camera and cannot identify it. Would be thankful for any help. It is made with this large cast iron 180* turning attachment on it. The attachment is labeled with (Still Picture, KS-46A. Camera Set), the camera is a design that I cannot identify as well, as none have this large face attachment that I have seen. I can submit more photos by email, if needed.
Thanks, James Howe

Are there any marking on the lens? It looks like a camera made for the government/military and just happens to have a Polaroid back on it. It is not a Polaroid camera. Any other markings on the camera at all?

On the inside of the camera behind the lens it has ( 001-003 ) stamped into it. Also a bracket behind the lens has ( 001-011 ) stamped. There is multiple stamped #'s on the outer casing ( 001-003 , 001-012 , 611-002 ). The lens is inscribed outer edge ( ILEX Paragon Anastigmat 4.5 focus 3 1/2 in. ). Camera Set, Still Picture, KS-46A, Serial #0146. Contract No. AF33(657)-10929.

Hope this helps, James

Hi James,

The lens is not a valuable lens, but if there is value it would be in the camera. I would send pictures of the camera to a camera auction like westlicht or Tamarkin. They may be able to assign an auction value as I can't find it anywhere. While it is rare that does not always translate to value so the best thing for you to do is send pictures to a few different auctions and hope someone has an idea of value.
