Hello!

I have a Schaja Klappkamera. It measures 4 3/4" x 6 3/8" x 2" but not sure what model # it is? . The reel/button does not seem to actuate the unfolding mechanism so I have not unfolded it. From what I can gather Schaja was a local camera shop in Munich? I found it hard to find info on..............

Thanks in advance for any more information on it.................Tim

Hello
Your camera is a folding bed type using plates.
Without opening it, identification shall be rather impossible.
On this type of camera, the button to be pressed for opening is often hidden Under the leatherette near the handle or on the side face. It may be located only by searching a small bump on the leatherette
N.B. The McKeown's guide ( page 889 12th edition) talks about a camera called Shaja (without "c") and indicates " 9x12 cm double extension plate camera, Tessar f4.5/135 mm in Compur shutter"

I indeed believe that Schaja was a camera shop in Munich, they probably had some cameras custom made by other manufacturers with the Schaja label. See below some pictures of adverts that I could find.
As Daniel indicates, you should look for a hidden button to open the camera to help with identification.
