How could an accessory kit sell for so much more than camera

Postby barbaralaketahoe » Fri Nov 07, 2008 6:20 pm

Hi! I just found this wonderful forum! :P

I have a Polaroid 335 Land Camera with all original pieces including paperwork, manual & case in absolute mint condition!! Original owner too.
I want to sell on eBay, but I am so shocked at how low these camera's are priced for particularly since I just saw a vintage Polaroid accessory kit that just sold for $255.00!! Why?
How could an accessory kit sell for so much more than the camera?!
 :?:

I am going to upload pic so that you all can see how nice it is. The case is not in this pic, but is also included. Everthing.

Help! I would appreciate any advice on how much to list this complete camera set for?

Barbara,
It depends on what kind of accessory kit was sold. Could you post a list to that auction?
In general, full kits are rare because they were actually used a lot, parts were lost, manuals were torn, etc.
Also, Polaroid manufactured it's cameras in hundreds of thousands per model, so they are not rare in USA for sure, hence the low prices.

Well, it's not "just accessory kit", it's in like new condition, original boxes, instructions, etc. Nice, collectible item. As I said before, there aren't many kits in this condition left. There are a lot of cameras in "like new" condition though.

Thanks much!! I will be on the look out for the not "just accessory kit", lol... Thanks for your knowledge on this subject. Barbara :)

Hope this might help someone else too! ;)
