I came into possession of a six lens Fallowfield Multiplicator Camera c.1870, which I'd like to sell. I can only find auction prices and information related to nine lens Fallowfield cameras and I'm stumped. Is anyone familiar with these cameras and able to point me in the right direction?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Catherine,
Rob Niederman may be able to help you, as he is a very knowledgeable collector with several multi-lens cameras.
I don't know if he visits this site, but you could reach him by posting a comment on one of his photos over at Collectors Weekly. Here is a link to an appropriate picture you could comment on (scroll down to leave a comment):

Good luck!

Thank you for your suggestion. I actually found his website and email and left a message for him. I am so curious about this camera and this is one time the internet is not ripe with information.
Thanks again.
Catherine

Re: Fallowfield Multiplicator camera 6 Lens
Hi John,
Rob has been very helpful. A few other collectors have lent their expertise and knowledge. I have learned that Fallowfield did not typically make six lens multiplicators. So we are in possession of a modification or special order. It is not a bad thing, apparently, if the lenses match; they do so that is good news. What we are attempting to solve now is dating the lenses and determining their focal length. The plate has sleeves into which the lenses are seated and it easily slides in and out of the housing. This could be a multiplicator zoom or macro option! In the meantime, I'm having a great time learning about wooden cameras, carte de visite photographs, and albumen prints.
I visited the link to your site. Wow! They are really neat, you have an extensive collection. The Bakelite and box cameras from the 20s are very impressive, as is Charlie the Tuna, he caught my eye too.

Re: Fallowfield Multiplicator camera 6 Lens
Catherine,
Thank you for the compliments on my collection! So glad you're getting help with your camera, and that you're enjoying learning a thing or two!
It would be great to see your camera, if uploading pictures wouldn't be too much trouble. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd be interested!
Please let us know if you end up finding out the value.
Thanks again,
John
