Kodak sizes classification.

Postby diser » Sat Aug 02, 2008 8:31 pm

Many of Kodak cameras have special codes in their names, like 2C, 3A or 4A. This is a general guide on the film sizes for these codes (in most cases it's accurate):

Negative Size (in inches)KodakBrownieHawk-EyePremoRoll-Film Usual Size
1⅝'' x 2½''000-127
2¼'' x 2¼''-1--117
2¼'' x 3¼''1222120
2½'' x 4¼''1A2A2A2A116
2⅞'' x 4⅞''2C2C-2C130
3¼'' x 4¼''333-118
3¼'' x 5½''3A3A3A3A122
4'' x 5''4-4-123
4¼'' x 6¼''4A---126
7'' x 5''5---115

Does this mean that film for these old cameras is actually available? If so,where do you get the film developed? Does Walgreens still develope 127 film? What's the story on film now anyway? I havn't used film cameras in ten years or so. Pete

Unfortunately most of the non-standard film developers can be reached via mail orders only. Probably you can find one or two small shop developers in a large city, but no luck in Walmart or Costco. You can get various film sizes from eBay. 127 film is manufactured by Fotokemika these days.
