The James A. Sinclair & Co. was established in 1904 by James A. Sinclair. In 1910 company acquired Sanders & Co. In the same 1910, James, along with Arthur Newman established another company, Newman & Sinclair, and James A. Sinclair & Co. began also advertising and selling products manufactured by Newman & Sinclair. While James died in 1940, the company continued its existence until late 1950s.
