Angelo Petazzi founded his company in 1883, in Milan, Italy, when his father Oscar Pettazzi died. Father's company was split between his sons: Angelo and Carlo (Carlo continued Oscar Pettazzi brand). In early 1900's Oscar's son Guilio takes over the business and uses Società Anonima Giulio Pettazzi fu Angelo name. In 1920s the company name is back to Angelo Petazzi, and it's managed by Enrico and Giuseppe, sons of Giulio. In c1926-1928 part of the company was sold to Arturo Chierichetti, and part was left to Giuseppe, which named it as Societa Anonima Industria Fotografics Italiana (S.A.I.F.I) Giuseppe Fettzzi (or sometimes as Casa G.P.M or G.I.P.), and continued to operate until 1980s.
