Field Camera "Leitz (4,5 x 6 cm) No. 7", c. 1910 This camera was obviously a breadboard model, only one other camera is known from the collection of Prof. Steinert at the Folkwang-Museum in Essen, small pocket camera from walnut wood, brass fittings, brass lens by Leitz: "Summar 4,5/80 mm" with engraving "Ernst Leitz", iris stop, size of the camera (closed): width 86 mm, height 75 mm, depth 35 mm (sizes without lens), water level, label on rear: "Leica-Belichtung" and bakelite plate with engraving "7". Sensational find for all Leitz collectors and specialists. - No more known worldwide!

The value of these pieces is difficult to define as there are only two worldwide.

Yeah, it could be hard to set a price for this one. Breker was trying to sell this camera for several years. In 2008, start price was $4650. Not sold. In 2006 the starting price was $4700. I'd think this kind of rarity should go off the lot in seconds...

Actually is an important collector.
I'm in the market as freelance photog.
One of my best friend is well inside European collectors market.
He told me that the camera was sold to a person he knows.
