The company history starts in 1895 when Léon Gaumont took over the Comptoir général de photographie. In 1899 the company was renamed to L. Gaumont & Cie. The company still exists, but it stopped manufacturing cameras and cinema equipment around 1932, and declared bankrupcy in 1935. |
