The American Camera Manufacturing Company was established in Northborough, Massachusetts in 1895 by Thomas Henry Blair after he left his previous company, Blair Tourograph & Dry Plate Co in 1892. Shortly after the opening, in 1897 American Camera was sold to George Eastman. It continued to operate under the same name until about 1904-1908 when it became the American Camera Division of the Eastman Kodak Co.
There was another American Camera Company in Northboro, Massachusetts which main purpose was to market products manufactured by the American Camera Manufacturing Company.
